Your first psychic reading: how to prepare for it

Your first psychic reading: how to prepare for it

Which questions to ask, what information to give, what to expect: the practical guide before your first reading.

A reading is prepared in ten minutes

The difference between a reading that brings clarity and one that frustrates rarely comes down to the reader. It comes down to the question. Arriving with "tell me what you see" sends the reading in every direction; arriving with a precise question focuses the exchange.

Take ten minutes beforehand. Write down what actually worries you, then turn it into an open question.

    Framing a good question

Closed questions produce poor answers. Compare:

    • "Will they come back?" calls for a yes or a no and leaves you with nothing to work on.
    • "What is blocking this relationship today?" opens a real conversation.

    Three simple principles:

    • One question at a time. Better to go deep on one subject than skim four.
    • Talk about yourself. A reading is about your position in the situation, not about another person's secret thoughts.
    • Prefer "how" and "what" to "will".

What is useful to share, and what is not

Your first name, your date of birth and your sign are enough to situate a reading. If the consultation is about a relationship, the other person's first name can help.

There is no need to tell the whole story in advance, though. Leave the reader room to describe the situation: that is precisely what will let you judge how relevant the reading is.

    Recognising a serious practice

A few markers apply to any reading:

    • The price is stated clearly before you start.
    • Nobody talks about a curse, a spell to lift, or a paid ritual to "unblock" your situation.
    • You are not pushed to call back urgently.
    • You are reminded that the reading is a perspective, not a final truth.

A serious reading never delivers a medical diagnosis, legal advice or a financial recommendation. If your question touches health, law or money, it belongs with a professional in that field.

    During and after

Note two or three sentences that struck you, while they are fresh. Read them again a week later: that is often when the reading makes sense, once events give it context.

If a prediction does not come true, that does not invalidate the exchange. A reading describes a tendency at a given moment, and your decisions keep changing it.

    Choosing who to talk to

Every practitioner has a style: some go straight to the point, others work gently. Browse the profiles of our psychics and read their approach before choosing, then start with a single question.
